Direct clash with BJP in 200 seats: How can the Opposition form an alliance without the Congress: Tejaswi

New Delhi: RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav has said that an opposition alliance without the Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is unimaginable. In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Tejaswi said that out of 543 parliamentary seats, the Congress is directly against the BJP in 200 seats.

‘Any opposition alliance is based on the Congress. An alliance without Congress is unimaginable. The Congress must be a part of the collective effort of the Opposition. But he added that in places where there are strong regional parties, they should lead the fight.

Time is running out, and preparations for the election must begin now. We all need to sit together and think about who is leading us. “Everyone must make compromises for the survival of the country,” Tejaswi said.

Earlier, the Shiv Sena and the NCP had expressed similar views. In Bihar, the Congress-RJD alliance was contesting as part of a grand alliance but the performance of the Congress was pathetic.
