Delhi Police summons AAP MP Amanatullah Khan for ‘threatening’ Dasna temple priest

Delhi Police summoned AAP MP Amanatullah Khan a week after his accommodation an FIR against him for allegedly threatening the chief priest of Dasna temple Yati Narsinghan and Saraswati.

An FIR was registered against Khan a day after he filed a complaint at Jamia Nagar Police Station against Saraswati for “hurting religious feelings” by his comments against the Prophet at an event in Delhi.

In a video accompanying his tweet on Saturday, the AAP MP said he had come to file a complaint against Narsinghanand. Khan added that if his words call for beheading or cutting off his tongue, “we have faith in the Constitution and the law and we hope that an FIR will be registered against him and he will be sent to jail.”

Dr Eish Singhal from DCP (New Delhi District) said: “We sent a notice to Amanatullah asking him to participate in the survey on April 12th.

“Upon learning about the matter, we registered an FIR under sections 153-A and 506 of the IPC against AAP MP Amanatullah Khan at Parliament Street Police Station,” said Vikas Kumar of the Additional DCP (New Delhi District ) earlier this week.

Friday, the police summoned Saraswati, asking him to join the investigation, but he did not join the investigation.
