Idukki: The police officer, who was being treated for a head injury, was released from the hospital after being questioned for not wearing a mask. Ajeesh Paul, a policeman at Marayoor station, was discharged from the Kochi hospital. On June 1, Ajeesh Paul was stoned to death while on duty. Sulaiman SHO from Kovilkadavu beat up Ratheesh GS and Ajeesh for questioning them for not wearing a mask.
He was rushed to Aluva Rajagiri Hospital where he lost the ability to speak and move his right arm and leg. Ajeesh’s life was saved, said the head of the neurosurgery department, Dr. The first challenge faced by the team led by Jagat Lal Gangadharan. Ajeesh Paul was transferred to a ventilator after a six-hour operation. Following the attack, Ajeesh’s skull was broken and a blood clot formed in his brain. Speech impairment is caused by an injury to the left side of the brain. Had to stay on the ventilator for six days.
Subsequent physiotherapy and speech therapy treatments resulted in some recovery of speech and limb mobility. Ajeesh Paul was unable to communicate many things in his memory due to brain damage. He will need speech therapy for at least another six months. Ajeesh Paul was accompanied by Industries Minister P Rajeev and hospital officials. SHO Ratheesh had earlier been discharged from the hospital.
