Thiruvananthapuram: Corona restrictions in the state have been extended for another week. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister to assess the lockdown restrictions. Concessions and restrictions will continue to be imposed on regions based on test positivity rates.
At the same time, the meeting decided to impose controls in more areas. The criteria for classifying local bodies have been changed. From now on, complete exemptions will be available only in areas with a TPR of less than 6 per cent.
Zero to six per cent will be in A category and six to B category. 12 to 18 per cent will be C category and 18 upwards will be D category. Triple lockdown will be implemented in areas above TPR 18. Control is tightened when the TPR is not low.
