Chennai: Malayalee assistant professor Vipin Puthiyedath has resigned alleging that he is facing severe caste discrimination from Madras IIT. Vipin from OBC category joined the job in March 2019. Vipin alleges that he has been facing severe caste discrimination since then.

Vipin had sent this e-mail to his colleagues on Thursday morning pointing out these matters. But the VP’s response was sought but not available.

In the e-mail message, he says that he has been a victim of severe caste discrimination. He demanded that steps be taken to prevent such a situation from recurring in Madras IIT in the future and that a committee be appointed for this purpose.

In an e-mail message, Vipin said that those who come as assistant professors from the SC section and the OBC section should learn about the problems they face.
