Yuvraj Singh was one of the superstars in the final of the Road Safety World Series Twenty20 tournament in Raipur on Sunday. India Legends defeated Sri Lanka Legends by 14 runs to clinch the title. Batting first, Yuvraj scored 60 off 41 balls with four fours and six sixes. After Virender Sehwag (10) and S Badrinath (7) were out, Yuvraj and Sachin Tendulkar (30) laid the foundation for the Indian innings.
The staff gave a royal welcome to the Indian players who returned to the hotel after winning the title. Yuvraj Singh shared a video of the ‘Guard of Honor’ given by the hotel staff on social media. Instead of swords, the staff stood holding up a pan with a long handle. The song from the super hit movie ‘Bahubali’ was playing in the background.
Yuvraj shared the video with the caption ‘Broken Bahubali’. Yuvraj injured his leg during the match. The star’s caption indicated this. The video also shows a bandage wrapped around the injured leg. Harbhajan Singh and others commented below the post praising Yuvraj.
Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field Virender Sehwag (10) and S Badrinath (7) were out early but Sachin Tendulkar (30) and Yuvraj Singh (60) laid the foundation for the Indian innings. Tendulkar hit 30 off 23 balls with five fours. After Tendulkar’s dismissal, Yusuf Pathan (62 *) smashed Yuvraj’s wicket to give India the lead. The duo put on 85 for the fourth wicket off just 47 balls. Yuvraj hit four fours and six sixes in 41 balls. Yusuf was unbeaten on 62 off 36 balls with four fours and five sixes.
In reply, Tillakaratne Dilshan (21) and Sanath Jayasuriya (43) gave Sri Lanka a good start with a 182 – run target, but Yusuf dismissed both. Yusuf Pathan smashed an unbeaten 62 in 7.1 overs to give Sri Lanka and Tillakaratne Dilshan the lead with Naman Ojha. Their top scorer Sanath Jayasuriya (43 off 35 balls) was later bowled by Yusuf. Though Chinthaka Jayasinghe (40) and Kaushalya Weeraratne (38) gave hope to Sri Lanka, India did not give up.
