BJP state president K Surendran allegedly paid another Rs 25 lakh to CK Janu in Bathery to become the NDA candidate in Bathery. Wayanad District Secretary Prashanth Malavayal handed over the money to Manimala Home Stay in Bathery on the morning of March 26, JRP Treasurer Praseetha Azhikode told Wayanad Crime Branch DySP R Manoj Kumar. The money was given in a small cloth bag saying that it was a pleasure to perform the pooja. JRP state secretary Prakashan Mozhara and coordinator Biju Ayyappan were also present in the room.

The day before the transfer, Praseetha said that K Surendran had informed her over the phone that Rs 25 lakh had been fixed. According to Praseetha, BJP organizing secretary M Ganesan had called him three times to inquire about the transfer of money, but Surendran had expressed his displeasure that CK Janu did not know who Ganeshji was. Praseetha had earlier revealed that she had handed over Rs 10 lakh to K Surendran Janu at the Horizon Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram on March 7.
