Ayushmann Khurrana had the opportunity to meet the son of late actor Irrfan, Babil, at the Filmfare Awards on Saturday. The actor has now written a memo in memory of Irrfan who was posthumously honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award and Best Actor in a Leading Role for his latest release, Angrezi Medium.

He also shares a photo of Irrfan’s mural in Bandra on Instagram. Ayushmann wrote: “It’s somewhere in Bandra. But he’s somewhere at peace. Celebrating his double win. Forever Irfan! Best Actor (Male) and Lifetime Achievement Award!

I had the honor to present this award @filmfare to @ babil.ik I met this beautiful boy for the first time. I would see it doing well in the future. We artists are a unique species. We have our vulnerabilities, our imaginations and our theories. We rely on observations and experiences. We live and die a thousand dead on celluloid or on stage. But the power of these performances makes us immortal. “

He then wrote a poem in Hindi about the fact that artists have neither past nor present and that no artist can be honored as he should because not every artist is Irrfan.

Babil also took to his Instagram Stories to share a glimpse of how he prepared to attend the ceremony. He dressed in a long blue jacket and baggy pants for the event and posed with Paatal Lok actor Jaideep Ahlawat. He also shared a photo with his mother Sutapa Sikdar as they posed together ahead of the event.

Angrezi Medium was Irrfan’s last film. It hit theaters on March 13, but its broadcast was cut short by the coronavirus-induced lockdown. It was made available on Disney + Hotstar shortly thereafter. Since the actor could not actively promote the film due to his illness, several Bollywood celebrities did their part to promote the film on social media.
