Sony Entertainment Television’s Indian Idol 12 is gearing up for a truly melodic and emotional weekend this time around, with AR Rahman set to honor the popular reality show as a special guest. After all, when the Madras Mozart is in the house, you just know the music is going to be cranked up several notches. With this in mind, the contestants will be seen doing their best to impress AR Rahman while the judges, Himesh Reshammiya, Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani will also be seen having fun in his company. For his part, the Oscar winner will share many interesting antidotes about his career and his music with everyone on set.
During the show, host Rithvik Dhanjani (who asks for Aditya Narayan as he recovers from the coronavirus), will be seen asking AR Rahman what kind of genres he likes to listen to himself, and the music maestro Not only answers his question, but also reveals the names of one of the show’s contestants as well as that of his sister, whom he loves to listen to to relax his mind.
“Whenever I’m tired or free, I listen to classic songs by Anjali Gaikwad and his sister Nandani. I listened to them on YouTube and even she (Anjali) sang reading my movie, Sachin: A Billion Dreams. I wish them all the best for their future.
Overwhelmed by AR Rahman’s kind words, Anjali Gaikwad replied, “I had the honor of singing a song like Mard Maratha for the movie Sachin: A Billion Dreams with AR Ameen (AR Rahman’s son). It’s blessed that God has come to the set, which feeds me on such a big platform. I feel overwhelmed and motivated and that will also encourage me to perceive my singing career as working hard to have more chances as such.
Well … when AR Rahman chooses you for such high praise, you know you have to do something right in your career.
