Suzuki announced in March that it would soon launch the Hayabusa 2021 motorcycle in the Indian market. Now, the Japanese motorcycle maker has announced on its social media grips that the completely revamped sports tourer will launch in April.
The company wrote in a tweet: “The ultimate sportbike is back! Experience unparalleled thrill and fun with superior refinement and technology in the new #Hayabusa 2021. Launched this month, StayTuned!”
The previous generation model was retired last year with the introduction of strict BS 6 emission standards. The new Hayabusa is going to make a very important launch for Suzuki in India. In fact, some Suzuki dealers have started to accept unofficial pre-reservations on the bike as well.
The new Hayabusa broke its coverage in the international market earlier this year. The company has already revealed the updated technical specifications as well as the features of the new bike.
At the heart of the new Hayabusa is a gigantic 1340cc inline 4-cylinder engine. This unit now complies with BS 6 / Euro 5 standards and is tuned to produce 187hp of maximum power at 9700rpm and 150Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm. The transmission option remains a 6-speed gearbox.
Some of the key features of the new Busa include multiple drive modes, engine brake control, power mode selector, traction control, two-way shifting system, cruise control, launch control and anti-lift control system. In addition, it also benefits from a 6-axis IMU and cornering ABS.
Hayabusa is already one of the most famous premium bikes in India, it goes without saying that the updated model is expected to have similar demand in the market as well. It will continue to compete with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R.
