Veteran Tamil actor Karthik was reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after complaining of shortness of breath on Saturday night. According to the latest media reports, Karthik is currently in an intensive care unit (ICU) at Fortis Malar Hospital in Adyar, Chennai.
A team of medics is reportedly monitoring Karthik’s condition, but so far no official statement has been released by Karthik’s family or hospital management. As a precaution, the hospital took a Covid-19 test and the relief is that it tested negative.
Upon learning of this, several Kollywood celebrities contacted Karthik’s family and asked for the status. A photo of Karthik from the hospital bed is circulating on social media and fans are wishing his speedy recovery.
Besides cinema, Karthik is also active in politics. Until Saturday, he was campaigning for the assembly elections on behalf of AIADMK and the BJP coalition.
