Abu Dhabi’s highest honor for MA Yousafzai

Abu Dhabi: Expatriate businessman and Lulu Group chairman MA Yousafzai has been honored by the Abu Dhabi government. Yusuf Ali received the Abu Dhabi Award, the highest civilian honor, in recognition of his contributions to the UAE’s commercial and industrial sectors and his outstanding support to the humanitarian cause.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the UAE Armed Forces, presented the award at a ceremony held at the Al Hossain Heritage Building in Abu Dhabi. After receiving the award, Yusufali said he was honored to see the Abu Dhabi government honoring him with great humility and pride. She has lived in Abu Dhabi for 47 years. Yusufali added that he would like to thank the visionary and persevering rulers of this country, especially the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. If there is anything I am today, it is with the support and prayers of the rulers of the great country of the UAE, the natives here, and the expatriate community, including the Malayalees. Yusufali said the award is dedicated to the expat community.

Yousafzai is the only Indian to win the award this year. Twelve people, including Yusuf Ali, have been honored by the Abu Dhabi government. UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abu Dhabi Executive Office Chairman Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan were among the dignitaries present.
